Is It Bias? Making Diversity Work with Dr. Sondra Thiederman is the training workshop with DVD based on her best selling book- Making Diversity Work: Seven Steps for Defeating Bias in the Workplace, that has been a "go-to" reference for organizations that strive to celebrate diversity and inclusion.
In this versatile workshop lead by Dr. Thiederman, we start with a quick video pre-test quiz of some of the common absolute statements used and heard about others in the workplace. We are asked if these comments are biased or not and then Dr. Thiedermann moves to define what being biased is and our use of absolutes in conversation for example "all", "they", "every" with respect to age, culture, personal appearance, religious beliefs, sexual orientation and more.
We go through Dr. Thiederman's steps on how we can defeat and control bias and target also those subtle biases that undermine our ability to build truly inclusive workplaces.
